Believe it or not but one of our favorite Windows Home Server add-ins, Grid Junction, is getting a facelift. Actually, it’s more of a “under the hood” job, but however you want to call it, Grid Junction v2 will work with Windows Home Server 2011 and Small Business Server 2011 Essentials.
In case you are not familiar with Grid Junction, which means you’re not jumping for joy just yet, the original add-in was designed for Windows Home Server to manage an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) via the Windows Home Server Dashboard.
And just like the original WHS version, this new Grid Junction 2.0 will un-intrusively issue power alerts and help protect your Windows Home Server and/or SBS from power problems such as brownouts, or blackouts by safely powering down the server when battery levels reach a set threshold.

Initially we are only focusing on USB connected devices. Your APC Smart-UPS should work if connected via *USB* , that said given enough interest, it would be nice to support DB-9 RS-232 as-well as TCP/IP. Thank you,

Just built my WHS2011 and really could use an update on this as I use an APC unit and don’t want to load APC software. Do you think you might have a something out soon for us to test?
Always loved it on v1 never had any problems worked as stated without problems. Always a sleeper app that you are always happy you have but don’t think much of it as it just works…
Anyways hope all is going well with this app any update you can provide would be very helpfull
