Internet Explorer 8 pushed to WHS via Windows Update

  • Comments 1

It appears that Microsoft has started to push the Internet Explorer 8 onto the Windows Home Server.

Users who have automatic Windows updates enabled and not yet installed Internet Explorer 8 may see a Critical Home Network Health notification that Windows Home Server updates are ready : "Windows Home Server has pending updates that you need to review and install".

Internet Explorer 8 has made great strides over IE 7 in terms of usability, security and stability; we recommend users perform this update.  However, anyone who does not want to upgrade to IE8 may use a free Blocker Toolkit which is available to block automatic delivery of IE8. This blocker toolkit was released in January 2009 and has no expiration date.
