The setup asks for a login name and password. Is this the same login name we use for the homeserver?
When prompted for credentials during installation, enter " .\Administrator " (without the quotes) for the user and your Server password for the password. The server password is your main password which you enter to access the Windows Home Server console.

I tried this and got an error message "No mapping between account name and security IDs was done." Error code 1603. Any help with this would be appreciated...thanks!
Did you write .\Administrator including the dot . and backslash \ ?
Yes, I copy/pasted from your post, removed the spaces before/after text (which were in your post it looked like) and then tried manually typing it. All got me the same error message.
