Hello,
What is your UPS make and model and how do you have it connected to your EX490?
Microsoft MVP - Windows Home Server
Sorry Alexander, my mistake I don't have any UPS.
I thought it was attached to the server. I don't need this add-in
I'm going to delete this post :)
Do you which one is the best and where can I get the UPS for ex490?
For the HP MSS EX490 I would recommend at least a 650 VA UPS made by APC or CyberPower Systems. As to “where?” it would depend on your geographic location but if you are in the U.S. you can get good deals at Frys Electronics and NewEgg.com.
If you have a particular model in mind feel free to inquire about it. I like to think that I have a lot of experience in this area and I am sure I can help you find a good UPS.
Thanks Alexander for your email.
I'll have a look around in UK to see what is available
I'm in Ireland
Cheers
Just found this, no more choice over here, most of them are for big companies

What do you think? Pricey?
Thanks
Yes I am afraid that is expensive and be careful that particular model does not appear to have any USB data port connection. Let us nudge Kurt who also lives in Northern Ireland to see if perhaps he knows where one can get a good deal on a GJ supported UPS.
Sorry for the late reply have been busy. CGA what county are you in as if you are close to one of the Northern Ireland countys you may get a better deal up here. Belkin UPS's are good and are about £100/ €111, and they work with Grid Junction. They have a good battery time. Local stores of PC World may still carry Belkin UPS.

Thanks for that Kurt.
I'll have a look around. I haven't seen anything in UK so far, hopefully I'll get one
I found this one in maplin
www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx
Any good?
This one has USB ports
search.dell.ie/.../9430-american-power-conversion-apc-back-ups-cs-650va-230v-kit.html
Grid Junction supports many APC models of UPS, if you are still looking around at UPS check www.homeserverland.com/.../supported-uninterruptible-power-supply.aspx for the full list of the supported of devices.
If it has a USB port on it most likely it will work with Grid Junction.
Thanks Kurt, it's hard to find an UPS over here.
I was in Maplin today and the one they have doesn't have USB and it is huge
Dont tell me the "Trust" brand of UPS which IMO is useless. I got my in PC World and then Belkin had to replace it and upgraded it since that didnt have the model I had in stock anymore. Have you tried Dabs?
