Hi, I installed vista caller ID on my computer but it does not seem to work. I downloaded the repair.exe program, selected the command at+vcid=1 and ran it. Rebooted my PC and it still does not work. When I look at the vista caller ID GUI I see my modem listed and a green icon that says active next to it. I then see 5 other icons below that which are red and say N/A next to it.
Do i need to do something else? I am pretty sure when I receive a call a pop up message should appear with a name and phone number as to who it is but that does not happen. Can someone plz help me out on what is going on? I would greatly appreciate it. Here are some diagnostics from vista caller ID:

Thx

The green icon reflects that the device has been bound and it does not necessarily mean that the device supports Caller ID.
The Agere Systems PCI-SV92PP Soft Modem should work after a TAPI driver fix, top of my head AT+VCID=1 looks correct but your log clearly shows that Vista Caller-ID never received anything but a RING notification. Did you do a hyperterminal test?
Are you located in the UK? If so Vista Caller-ID 1.0.8.5 might work for you.

Alex, How do I do a hyperterminal test on a vista / win 7 system?
thx
i live in the US BTW. Also, I have another modem on the way that states in supports caller ID specifically which I will try as well.
Please take a look at the HyperTerminal Caller ID Support Test wiki.
Please note that anything you do in hyper-terminal is not persistent! When you have tested that you have the right AT command to enable caller ID – you should use the repair utility. After a restart Hyper-Terminal should display Caller ID info WITHOUT having to run the AT command again. If you still have to run the AT command that would mean that the repair did not work.
Can you confirm that hyper terminal now displays caller id info without having to run the AT command again.
Alex, I did a HT check and here are the desired results:
AT
OK
AT+VCID=1
RING
DATE=1022
TIME=1904
NMBR=P
NAME=P
So I know the modem is working correctly. So what would cause vista caller ID to not work? What else can I try, plz?
Please note that Hyperterminal is a passive session only - hyperterminal will make no changes.After running the Caller ID repair utility, if you still have to type "AT+VCID=1" into the hyperterminal in order to get Caller ID (Date, Time, NMBR, NAME) to show up it means that the TAPI layer has not been repaired.
Please repair your moden init / TAPI and then fire up hyperterminal but this time just type "AT" and get the OK and then do NOT enter the AT+VCID but try calling your phone number. If you only see RING RING it means that the TAPI is still corrupt, if however you see your Caller ID info without explicitly you having to enter the AT+VCID command it should work.
Do you have anything set in your moden initialization string?
Alex, How do I repair my modem init / TAPI plz?
What repair program did you download?
Vista caller ID repair.
Can you please post your modem log? thanks
Here you go.
