Caller-ID not resetting after call

Caller-ID not resetting after call

Not Answered

    Agere SoftModem

Installed all the software/update/fixes and Caller ID works as planned in WMC under Windows 7 -- but only once.  I'm not much of a programmer, but my only surmise is that the modem is not resetting after a caller-id event.

Is there a command to issue the modem to reset it, get it ready for the next call?

Thank you for the software, Alexander!

  • I might add .. once I reboot the system everything works fine for one call, then the calls don't pop up in Media Center .  I'm convinced that I just need to somehow institute some type of reset. Thank you!

  • Please ensure you have your area code configured under control panel -> phone and modem options, then restart Vista Caller-ID and see if that resolves your issue; if not please post your modem and diagnostics log.

  • Thanks, Alexander.

Here's the log: Re-installed, rebooted, "716" indicated as my modem area code under "phones and modems."  Media Center running, then called twice.  First call came up in media center and second call did not show in media center.  (I'm not an expert, but it seems to show up on the log below:

Thank you very much!  Caller-ID may even be a small gift for my wife at Christmas who misses Satellite.  :)

  • I am experiencing the same problem. It takes the first call in W7 MC and after that it ignores the rest of the calls. The modem is picking it up just fine.

I have not resolved this, no.  I am hoping Alexander can help us out, but I'm sure he's a busy guy!
