The Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router supports the Windows Home Server automatic router configuration over UPnP standards. However, for best results we recommend to manually configure Port Forwarding to your Windows Home Server.

Open your web browser and enter your router’s URLhttp://192.168.11.1 is the default Buffalo router IP address.By default, the username is root and the password should be left blank. If you have changed the defaults, then enter your corresponding information.If you have forgotten your router password, you may reset the router by pressing and holding for a few seconds the reset button located on the router.
It should look something like the image below.
Select "Advanced" from the HOME page.
Browse to "Network Congfig" > "UPnP". Enable and apply the UPnP option under the “UPnP Settings” section.
a) Navigate to "LAN Config" and click on "DHCP Server".
b)Next, locate your Windows Home Server’s using it’s MAC address under the “Current DHCP Client Information” section and click on “Manual Assignment”.
c) Save the reserved IP address for your Windows Home Server and make a note of the IP address. For example 192.168.11.6
The Windows Home Server remote access feature requires you to forward port 80, port 443 and port 4125.
a) Click on “HOME” and then on the “Internet Games (Port Mapping)” link.
b) Enter the following port forwarding configuration. Note that the IP address refers to the IP address specified at step 3 c.TCP: 80LAN IP Address: Manual Configuration 192.168.11.6Apply

TCP: 4125LAN IP Address: Manual Configuration 192.168.11.6Apply
c) Verify that the Custom Port Translation Configuration has a listing for all three ports 80, 443, and 4125.
Congratulations! You have now configured your Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 for remote access to your Windows Home Server.
