Press Release

The SCALEO Home Server functions as a media centre for the home. Storage can easily be
increased, using internal & external hard disks, as required. All data – plus backup & recovery for
systems in a home network – are managed via an easy-to-use web-based interface. Users are able
to access their multimedia content from any networked PC in their home, & remotely via the internet.
The SCALEO Home Server is near-silent in operation & comes with special energy management
software that minimises power consumption but nevertheless guarantees on-demand system
availability.

The SCALEO Home Server will be available in the UK and Ireland with two different storage
capacities – the SCALEO Home Service 1900 model boasts a capacity of 1TB (2x 500GB hard
drives) & the Home Service 1500 model stores up to 500GB. Both models feature modern, quiet
SATA2 hard drives running at 7200rpm & can be further extended by adding external hard drives via
USB or eSATA connection. Both models offer Gigabit Ethernet connection for LAN networking & the
new Microsoft Windows Home Server operating system is pre-installed.
