The Buffalo WHR-G300N router supports the Windows Home Server automatic router configuration over UPnP standards. However, for best results we recommend to manually configure Port Forwarding to your Windows Home Server.
Open your web browser and enter your router’s URLhttp://192.168.11.1 is the default Buffalo router IP address.By default, the username is root and the password should be left blank. If you have changed the defaults, then enter your corresponding information.If you have forgotten your router password, you may reset the router by pressing and holding for a few seconds the reset button located on the router.
Enable and apply the UPnP option under the “LAN Config” section and UPnP tab.
a) Navigate to "Internet/LAN" and click on "DHCP Lease". Next, locate your Windows Home Server’s using it’s MAC address under the “Current DHCP Client Information” section and click on “Manual Assignment”.
b) Save the reserved IP address for your Windows Home Server and make a note of the IP address. For example 192.168.11.2
The Windows Home Server remote access feature requires you to forward port 80, port 443 and port 4125.
a) Click on “LAN Config” and then on the “Port Forwarding” tabb) Enter the following port forwarding configuration. c) Verify that the Port Forwarding Registration Information matches the following. Note that the IP Address may differ.
All done! After you configured your Buffalo WHR-G300N Router for Remote Access you should test the remote connectivity from within your home and from outside of your home.
