Logitech does not support any Windows Server OS platforms. The Logitech QuickCam Software & Drivers installer do not install the Logitech USB Camera drivers correctly on the Windows Home Server.

Symptoms
The Logitech USB Quickcam/Webcam shows up as USB Device under Imaging devices and under Sound, video and game controllers if the camera has a microphone built-in.

Tools Needed

Step 1: Install Universal Extractor

We recommend that Universal Extractor be installed and used on a client computer. You can however install Universal Extractor directly on your Windows Home Server (via Remote Desktop) if needed.

Step 2: Download and Extract Logitech Software

Download the latest Webcam Software & Drivers from the Logitech Website for your specific QuickCam / WebCam model.

Right-click on the Logitech webcam install package. For example: "qc1150.exe" and choose "UniExtract to Subdir"

The Universal Extractor application will extract all the files, this process may take a few seconds to a  minutes. Once the extraction is complete you will see a new folder with the same name as the installer package.

Step 3: Driver Fix

Create a new folder and name it "Logitech Driver Fix". Next, open the Logitech folder created by the Universal Extractor application and navigate to the "Drivers\x32" directory. There you should see 3 folders (ELCH, IM or IM2 and PRO3 or PRO5).

Copy all the contents from each of these folders into your "Logitech Driver Fix" folder. Any duplicate files should be overwritten.

At this point your Logitech Driver Fix folder should have these files, or should look very similar.

Step 4: Install the Logitech Webcam Drivers

At this point your Logitech Quickcam / Webcam should be connected to your Windows Home Server via USB connection. Wait for the "Found New Hardware Wizard" to pop up or alternatively if you have already attached and tried to configure your Logitech camera using the Logitech Software Package - open device manager, and find the unknown "USB Device", right-click and select "Update Driver".

Select "Install from a list of specific location" and press Next.

Ensure the "Search for the best driver in these locations" is selected and only check "Include this location in the search" and navigate to the "Logitech Driver Fix" folder.

The New Hardware Wizard will find the appropriate Logitech drivers for your camera and you may receive a prompt that the drivers have not passed Windows Logo testing, click "Continue Anyway"

Click "Finish" when the wizard completes and all the drivers have been copied. Note that some Logitech camera models have a built-in microphone and may require the above process to be repeated for any unknown USB Device under Sound, video and game controllers.

Step 5: Lights, Camera and Action!

At this point your Logitech QuickCam / Web Cam should be fully functional on your Windows Home Server. You may delete the "Logitech Driver Fix" folder - or safeguard it for future use by storing it in your Windows Home Server "Software" shared folder.
